Description
Artist: Simon Jones
Simon Jones was born in Grimsby, England. Once the second largest fishing port of its kind in the world, Grimsby sits directly on the North East coast fringed by what is known as 'The Lincolnshire Wolds'. He studied Fine Art on a Foundation Course at Grimsby Art College back in the late 70's and went on to study at Degree Level at Kingston Polytechnic London and later at Hull University gaining a BA Hons Degree in Fine Art. He has lived and worked in Lincolnshire most of his life and feels a close connection with its unique landscape.

"My passion is Oil Painting primarily my local Landscape (Lincolnshire Wolds). I have lived all my life in and around this landscape and use it as an inexhaustible and inspiring material for my painting. I have a deep love of Fine Art stretching back over 40 years now. Whenever I get the chance I take the opportunity to visit Art Exhibitions and Galleries both home and abroad. I endeavour to imbue my landscapes with mood and melancholy saturating the canvas with varying layers of paint to convey tone and texture in what I see.

Remember: Look now while life lasts . . .

Statement: Painting of an old chalk stream close to my home in Lincolnshire. This stream is actually now under threat of re-development and I thought it would be a good idea to capture its majesty before its demise.

Painting is on professionally made cradled wood panel (has built in frame) edges will be natural varnished wood (pictured). Painting will come ready to hang with brass eyelit's and cord and with a signed certificate of authenticity.
